We were here in 2017 when this campsite first opened and back then it was called Payung Campsite – it is now known as Payung Getaway.

We’ve made several videos about this beautiful campsite in the past for our Channel and we will have a new one coming soon because it deserves an updated video.

This place is perfect for newbie campers and campervaners. Safe, clean and beautiful.

It’s in Kampung Cherating located in the East coast of Malaysia, coastline is the South China Sea. Check the map below, you will notice that Payung Getaway has a beach and a river so you can camp facing a sunrise or a sunset. That’s what makes this place so special.

Reception, kitchen, dining, lounge, campfire pits, river, beach, toilets, indoor/outdoor showers, fishing, canoe & kayak rental. Shops that sell food are just walking distance. There is a famous Ombok Cafe you should try out in Kampung Cherating, will leave a link below.
